Why Ajax's not buy players for Defense??
And everyone knows that Vertonghen and Van der Wiel could leave the club, now all thoughts are about the attack, there is no concern of protection.
Let us not forget that in Alkmaar PSV FC Twente defense is of great importance Douglas, Alex ,Moreno, Rodriguez.Salcido!

Salcido is playing for Fulham since last summer. Rodriguez = Maza? Not good enough. Moreno is moved to Spain i thought to Espanyol or something. Douglas, i think he will not come to Ajax. Who is Alex?

The South African defender Daniels failed his second time test at Ajax. De Boer thinks the compete for the center-defender is intense for him. I think FdB will make some young players debut in the new season and he won't buy anyone of this position even if Vertonghen leaves.

With young defender only to the level of Ajax Spartak Moscow, then we will not pass.

Alex was already property from Chelsea, he was on loan at psv.
Douglas? Didn't see him in the last match of this season. But he is prob. the best defender from the Eredivisie. "Maza" Rodriguez isn't always playing at psv, it's a slow defender with a terrible build-up. Alderweireld and Vertonghen are better then him.
We don't have the money to buy players with a big salary (>1mil euro) to sit on the bench..
In Holland we get this season only 30mil euros for the tv-rigths that has to be shared with 18 teams.. We DON'T have money.. Because of this Ajax can't compete anymore with other teams in Europe. Or we need to get talented players from the toekomst

I'm not comparing the Ajax budget with the budgets of European top clubs.
I compare with Dutch clubs.
Ajax has become a champion and in winter sold 26 million Suarez, De zeeuv 6 mln.and until that time had been spent 15 million on transfers, you will again say no money.
PSV no champion no Dutch cup, on transfers spent more money than Ajax.
AJAX always cries NO MONEY!
Maybe in the management of Ajax still have relatives Coronel Jews??

You dit forget the season before? Where we made a big loss of +20mil euros. Yes we've got some money on the bank-account of Ajax but we don't need to spent it al at once. We did sell Suárez for 22 mil + bonus. Also it is common with Western-European clubs that the pay the money on terms. So we don't have all the money directly on our bank account.
Ajax also said if there's a club who wants to buy Vertonghen they have to pay moren then 20 mil euro's.

If Ajax Vertongen sells and it's not a small sum of money,
20 million of it can not spend 1 million in long-term player 22-25 years who will be better than Ooijer?
For example in Utrecht Marcus Nilsson of (Helsingborg IF).

Sorry I did read wrong.. I thought you said a talented player behind Vertonghen who should take the position of Ooijer on the bench, but I was wrong.
Well If we sell Vertonghen, Ooijer wouldn't start. Ajax wants to buy a central defender then.. Ooijer is too old to be in the line-up.
De Boer wants to hold Vertonghen at all costs. There are some talented central defenders but the need another season to be ready to play in Ajax-1.

Yes, but it's still unsure that Vertonghen leaves this summer.. So if we buy NOW a new player it won't be a leader directly (You can't buy leaders, they stand up if the old one leaves).
That's why I said if you buy a player 22-25 and Vertonghen stays he'll come on the bench..
What you can do is buy a player like Chivu instead. He was a former leader of Ajax. And then can the young talented players like Denswil, Sporkslede grow behind him.
