From what ive seen so far of Ozbiliz ive not been very impressed (i mean this in terms of that he hasnt lived up to his comparison of a young Messi), he has done ok, but nothing that leads me to believe he will be anywhere near as good as Messi.
I think its a shame players like Dario and Suk havent been given more of a chance under De Boer's reign. I was under the impression that as he came from working with the guys from Jong Ajax he would bring them through...
Hopefully De Jong will bring his shooting boots (if he has any) today, as Ajax cant afford to miss as many chances this time. No doubt Ajax have the ability to beat Spartak, but its all about goals, nobody will remember how well Ajax played in the first leg if they go out tonight!!
COME ON AJAX!!!

Well it was a really young ajax side, who had to play with their 3rd string goalie, no out-and-out striker (until Dario came on, and did very well, sure he should have scored, but showed some nice touches and control). I still maintain that Ajax would have got atleast 1 goal over the two legs with Mounir playing, but no need to argue about that now...
I retract my statement about Ozbilitz who looked very much like a young messi when he came on. It was a suprise for me as he didnt show anything when he came on last time against Spartak (albeit was late in the game) and i dont really count the woeful Willem II defenders.
All in all this has been a good experience for the team, hopefully with the money from Suarez Ajax can strengthen in the summer. I am hoping for:
Bas Dost - El Hamdaoui isnt staying while De Boer is here, Ajax need a new number 9
Dries Mertens - I believe he could be one of the greatest wingers in the world, hopefully it will be with Ajax
Maksym Koval - Yes, THAT goalie from kiev, Maarten will probably leave in the summer, id have him as Manchester united's new number 1. Koval has potential through the roof, and can compete with Vermeer and Padt for the Ajax starting job next year!

Even at 3 -0 down we forced the Kiev keeper into 3 excellent saves and hit the bar twice.
a big disappointment to us all but the young side will grow stronger from this.

Your team is too young. You need some experienced players. And Sim de Jong isn't centerforward.

Özbiliz and Eriksen played well yesterday. Ajax played a little better in the second half.
We were swept out by Spartak in the first half. We created even not one chance in the 1st half. Every player seemed feeble. No good combinations. Daley Blind couldn't stop the right winger of Spartak. I don't know his name. Van der Wiel may be responsible for the first two goals. We were totally lost. This match made me realize that Ajax is still too weak in the European duels.
@UK_Ajax: I meaned that Özbiliz has a Messi type play. Not that he has the ability as Messi... Well, he played really well in the 2nd half.

You are right, Che. In our basis, there is no player who is 30 yeas old or older.

A good news: Real Madrid made them into the quarter finals of CL. Ajax can get 1M euro from Real. This was an agreement when Huntelaar came to Real in 2008. This agreement will be effective till 2013.

Yes i understand what you meant, but even then Ozbiliz did have a bit of class and skill that could only be compared to messi when he came on, maybe he needs more playing time. Definatly worth more of a chance than Assiati when he comes back from vitesse.
Thank you Che, you may be russian, but finally somebody agrees with me! Ajax needed a number 9 to beat Spartak, even if it meant playing Mounir who nobody on here likes!
As for the Real madrid 1 million euros thingy, i do believe it means that Ajax can make another 2 million euros if Madrid reach the quaters again in the next two seasons  !!!
