Eriksen is together with Wilshere the most talented midfielder from his year and I guess that in a couple of years these to guys will be with the best of the world. Last year he extended his contract till the summer of 2014 but he isn't one of the best payed Ajax players and because of that I expect that Ajax will be able to extend his contract by another one or two years. If he signs a contract that expires in the summer of 2016 and develops himself well Ajax will be able to sell him in the summer of 2014 for a very nice price to one of the European superpowers.

Citaat: Eriksen: 'Premier League won't suit me'
Danish wonderkid feels Spain and Italy are better options
There's more live football on Sky Sports than ever before, including the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Clydesdale Bank Premier League, England away Euro 2012 qualifiers and La Liga. With four live Sky Sports channels, as well as Sky Sports News, you'll never miss a moment on Sky. Click here for more.
Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen has admitted that he doesn't feel that his game is suited to the Premier League.
The 18-year-old prodigy received rave reviews from the media following his performance against England on Wednesday, with a whole host of clubs now alerted to his abilities.
Currently at Ajax, Eriksen has been linked with teams such as Liverpool and Arsenal in recent times, as well as some of the biggest sides on the continent.
However, Eriksen felt that his tricky style would not be the most effective in the English top-flight and that Italy or Spain may be a better option.
"At every game at Ajax there are scouts of foreign clubs in the stadium. But the Premier League is for me not the most logical league to play in," he told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
"I don't know if I am physically capable for that kind of football.
"The Serie A and La Liga could possibly fit better. But right now that is not an issue."
Martin Schoots, Eriksen's agent added: "We don't expect Christian will leave Ajax this summer.
"There is not a scenario where he will leave to a bigger club after just two seasons.
"The player has very deliberately chosen Ajax in a period he could move to much bigger clubs in Europe."
I think Eriksen is right that he wouldn't be able to play his best football in the Premier League. Players like Vd Vaart, Wilshere and Eriksen are rare in England while in Spain their are a fair number of that type of midfielders. Ajax has to make sure they enter into negotiations for a contract extension as soon as possible cos it won't be long before he'll be good enough for a European superpower.

Eriksen said that he didn't want to go to England. Both Arsenal and Liverpool have interests for him. He wants only to go to Barcelona if he has to leave Ajax.

The espressions that players make during theire stay at clubs by saying they only gonna leave the club for the 'biggest club(s)' in the world are so anoying. I want to believe that Christian is gonna stay for another five years but when the money bag arrives there gonna change their mind.
I surely hope that Christian wil stay for at least 2 or 3 years to break out the big potention he has and become an fenomenal player. I Strongly believe in him.

I have the same feeling. But it's unchangeable.

As a wonderkid, Christian has shown so much talent on the field, his choice of staying here was totally right, it could help himself and Ajax both.

We just putted a new newsarticle about Christian Eriksen. His father said that Chelsea referred Christian as weak and not so great. The father of Christian advices all young players not to go to Chelsea. And that, my friends, is some great news for us.

I wonder what Eriksen's development means for Rasmus Lindgren.
IMO Lindgren could start at many other eredivisie sides, why should he stay at ajax to sit on the bench?
It shouldnt matter too much to Ajax. With Donald, Sno, Aissati, van der Heijden and Josefzoon all leaving it will allow others to come through.
Im particularly interested in the development of Lodeiro and Bonevacia, two REALLY talented players!

I don't think Aissati is leaving. He has said more than once that he will try to prove himself Ajax worthy when he returns to Ajax after the summer vacation. I think he is one of the better players the Eredivisie has and that he is a very valuable player if he plays in a squad that is well oiled.

Aissati will need to compete with Lodeiro on the left side of the midfield, Vitesse has said they are hoping to keep Aissati.

really, ive really not been that impressed with Aissati at Vitesse especially as he hasnt played much better than Matic who is only a teenager!
if he isnt running the show at Vitesse then i doubt he will make the grade at Ajax, id rather Ajax sold him for good money and used it to invest in a top-notch striker or put it towards Dries Mertens!

I believe you're mistaken Matic is 15 days older than Aissati according to transfermarkt.de and wikipedia. I think Aissati would fit perfectly into the game Frank de Boer wants Ajax to play.

@Ghost, sorry you are right, but in regards to Aissati i have seen recently on VI that he wants to stay at Vitesse on a permanent deal, i really dont think he is a big loss to Ajax.
Citaat: I wonder what Eriksen's development means for Rasmus Lindgren.
Well, nothing because Eriksen is an attacking midfielder and Lindgren a defensive midfielder.
Just because they both play different positions in midfield doesnt mean it wont affect Lindgren. Ajax are still only ever going to play 2 players at the most in the center of midfield, defensive or attacking...
IMO De Jong, De Zeeuw, Erikson, Enoh and Lodiero (to name a few) are all better central midfielders than Lindgren. For this reason that he wont ever get a game, why would Ajax want to keep him on a big wage when a youth player could do the exact same job of sitting in the reserves in case of injury...

Lindgren is more defensive, Wich means he is competing with Enoh and Anita. Since Anita is playing very well at the moment, I think he won't play that much, maybe he even wont at all. Since Enoh is always the Second choice, De Boer always has De Jong in the selection, because he can play defensive, attacking midfielder, and he can be a striker aswell. Since Lodeiro is almost done recovering, I think Frank de Boer wil let him try to play on De Jongs position, wich means there are 3 people in the selection for the defending position. Atleast, if you don't count De Zeeuw as a defending midfielder aswell, because what makes him good is always running from box to box, wich means he also is defending, aswell as attacking. to bad he cant do this annymore since he got that kick on his face on the World Championship . And BTW, it is Eriksen, and not Erikson . I just hope Lindren will be like Ooijer, and help young players , I think that he and De Jong are just perfect as a backup, but since they both dont have just one place to play, they aren't the best at anny position. That is why I would like to see Lodeire as attacking midfielder, and De Jong as a striker, but I think Frank de Boer has not seen enough of Lodeiro, to give him a place in the first eleven.

Very good post Chasing!
But your arguments just add to my point that Lindgren would just be sat in the reserves playing for Jong Ajax and hoping for an injury to get his chance. If i were a team like Vitesse or ADO (if they qualify for europe) and i was looking for a good defensive midfielder who wasnt playing at their current team, Lindgren would be near the top of my list, and Ajax can really deny Rasmus the chance to play football week-in-week-out, that would be harsh. And BTW, it is Lodeiro, and not Lodeire !
Finally, if Ajax did sell Lindgren it would give some of the younger players like Roly Bonevacia and Rodney Sneijder (who i know can play in defence) a chance to come through and shine!

According to Eriksen's agent, the chance that Eriksen will leave Ajax this summer is very little.
"He doesn't want to change his club now. At present only Barcelona could change his mind. However, you know that this will never happen in football."

Citaat: Eriksen is “head Scandinavian” at Ajax
12 July 2011
Christian Eriksen (19) is on the eve of his second full season with Ajax. Two and a half years ago, he made his debut with the selection in Portugal. 40 competition matches, a cup and a championship later, Eriksen wants more. The Danish international wants to become more important for Ajax. He discussed his ambitions during the training camp in Germany.
After the training, Christian Eriksen takes time for a short geography lesson. After Rasmus Lindgren’s (Sweden) departure, and Kolbeinn Sighthórsson’s arrival, Ajax’s Scandinavian content has remained the same. Or has it? “Icelanders, Scandinavians? No, they’re not really Scandinavians. They don’t speak Danish. And we don’t speak Icelandic. Fortunately, Kolbeinn and I both speak English and Dutch.”
It’s clear that the Danes are in the majority at Ajax. They also have – with Eriksen leading – the most long-standing rights. Kolbeinn Sigthórsson will be the first Icelander in the history of Ajax, and he’ll have to live with it. Ajax’s new forward handles the Scandinavian teasing well. Helped, of course, by his Danish team mates. “Kolbeinn is a good guy.”
Eriksen takes Sigthórsson, who is two years older than him, under his wing during his first days at Ajax. They know each other from the Denmark -Iceland interlands from last month. They met with both the national team and the European Cup U-21. “I beat him with the Danish team, but lost with Young Denmark. That defeat cost us dearly, as we were eliminated from the European Cup by it.”
Eriksen has been chomping at the bit for a week to start with Ajax again. “Three weeks off are more than enough for me. I’ve been waiting all week for Monday to come. I was really looking forward to starting again.” The early elimination from the European Cup U-21 didn’t spoil Eriksen’s holiday. On the contrary, the Dane had a great time. “I wasn’t that disappointed by the elimination from the European Cup U-21. Naturally I’d hoped for more, especially in my own country. But because of our home advantage, there was a lot of pressure on us in Denmark. But I’ve especially got a great feeling because of my first championship with Ajax. We’re going to defend the title this year, and that’s a good challenge.”
Next to defending the title, Eriksen also wants to secure his own place. Although the midfielder has been a regular fixture with coach Frank de Boer, the Dane knows all too well that the competition has increased. With the arrival of Mats Rits and Thulani Serero, there are now more midfielders to choose from. Derk Boerrigter, Theo Janssen, Sigthórsson and the returning (loaned out) player Jan-Arie van der Heijden will provide more internal competition with the national champion. Eriksen: “Of course, there will be lots of competition at midfield. I have to face it head on. I can’t assume that I’ll be playing. It’s too easy for me to say that I’ve built up an advantage from last season. We’re starting fresh. When you prepare for a new season, everyone starts off as equals.”
Eriksen has enough dreams for next season. “I want to improve in all areas this year. More goals, more assists, and becoming more important for the team. I want to have a steady season on all fronts. I’m going to take that step in my development.” The Scandinavian will happily sent his assists to Sigthórsson. “After the matches between our national teams, we’re more or less on the same foot. From this season, we need to pull together to win it all with Ajax.”
