Volos is f@ckin lame, only hippies and antifas survive here and drink minerva coffes. Anyway respect for the incredible Peinirli with fries, a Volos trademark delicacy.

I ate the peinirli with fries yesterday and it was dancing in my stomach during all the night! <img src='smilies/icon_confused.gif' />
Leri, you are too young to talk about the minerva coffee, not to mention the minerva Pastes which are impecable!

I don't know how u assume things about antifa, anarchists etc, it's true that we have a good building occupation which is pretty active and communicates with the local society, but that's all i think.

[size=150">Jol agrees Fulham deal - reports[/size">

Last Updated: Sat, 17 Jul 2010 10:30

Reports today suggest that former Spurs manager Martin Jol as agreed to become Fulham's new manager.

The current Ajax chief emerged as a surprise contender for the Craven Cottage hot seat yesterday and it is believed he has agreed a deal to leave the Dutch giants and return to the Premier League.

Former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson had been strongly linked with the role but his high wages were seen as a problem.

Current USA coach Bob Bradley was also believed to be in the frame to replace Roy Hodgson, who left for Liverpool last month, but the US Soccer Federation confirmed they were to offer him a new deal.

Former Hamburg chief Jol guided Spurs to two successive fifth place finishes before being sacked in October 2007 after a poor start to the season and has previously stated his desire return to England at some point in his career.

It is thought the 54-year-old will fly out next week to meet the Fulham players on their pre-season tour of Sweden.

Hello People ,

My name is Dimitris and I am a PAOK fan also . Its nice to see that people can make serious talks about their upcoming match in here .

Well , AJAX is one of the most famous clubs in Europe in my opinion but of course you cannot win this match just because you have a name . You have to play football and this is something which depends on many factors . First of all you are changing a manager two weeks before the game with us , that means that the players have to adopt his philosophy , his tactics and game style , its very hard to do that in this short time .

All your international players will have problems to adopt the fitness form the other players have . Its not easy to play a full season , a world cup in that pace and then to be ready for a match like this . Besides that your whole Offensive line will be different players like Pandelic , Romendahl are gone so the team has to adopt a whole new offensive approach not to mention a new Manager ! ! !

Players like Suarez who will probably leave will NOT play against PAOK cause then they would loose the right to play for European matches if they transfer to another team . So i don't think that Suarez or any other potential transfer of AJAX will play against us . If they do they would not be able to play in European competitions next year with their new team .

PAOK, team is a team which focuses mainly on the defense strategy and which had one of the best defenses in Europe the last two years and by that i mean conceding less goals , in fact 16 in the whole championship . That means that we are a constant team and we kept all our players in fact the defense will be improved with one or two player solution too . Our best defender Pablo Contreras could leave cause our board would like to get his "heavy" contract out of the way , but he is very valuable and i don't believe that we can dream of European competitions without his experience.
The Weak point of PAOK last year was his Offense in which we had problems producing Goals . That of course will change cause PAOK signed the Best Greek Striker at the moment , member of the national team in Africa Dimitris Salpingidis from Panathinaikos Fc.
We have a solid team and the only problem is how quick they will be ready and up to form cause we have a new trainer also and its always hard to adopt new styles so quickly.

The most Important thing is something you don't know and that is the thirst and passion we have for this moment ! We practically Live for those games and they will be one of the most IMPORTANT games in our HISTORY as a team and i will explain why ... PAOK had huge problems in the last 10 years if not more and was a victim of financial imposter's which took advantage of the club stealing millions every year , PAOK fans made war and gave their fight many years in order to make the club free again , that was when T. Zagorakis a former player of PAOK and leader of the National team 2004 ( euro 2004 mvp ) took the strings of the club and brought us to the correct path . The team has an enormous improvement since then and in a short time of 3 years we looked straight in the eyes teams like Panathinaikos and Olympiakos Athens , and could almost win the championship with a budget 10-20 times smaller than them , and that because our technical manager ( Zisis Vryzas) and our chairman are people who lived their life through football , they know everything about it , they know what a team needs.
So that is what i wanted to tell you that if we made it we will change our clubs History FOREVER its the most important thing for us every player knows that and they will play 1000% of their capabilities , cause if we do that , we will be out of DEBTS forever and the club will climb some important steps here !

The same stands for the Fans also ! You should realize that we have already talked with AJAX Board in order to Get 3000 Tickets of even more , 2500 in one part of the stadium and 400-500 vip tickets for the board and the special guests or something like that , so you understand that making a fan trip with 2500 people in the middle of the summer is something rare .

The fact his How much DO YOUR PLAYERS want this game ....how much will YOU UNDERESTIMATE PAOK and his team ...and of course his fans ....cause believe me 3000 PAOK fans in Amsterdam will cause a small chaos in your city this day
and if your players are not READY or not Up for this in two weeks , and you make a mistake in Amsterdam , i don't believe that your team will have a change in Thessaloniki and Toumpa Stadium , cause they will see something there which they haven't seen before , 40000 people willing to give their life for this match , singing 120 minutes ( 90 minutes during the game and half an hour before it <img src='smilies/icon_cool.gif' /> )

So my dutch friends i hope that we will see two good games with passion and lots of goals and above all i hope that there will not be any troubles in the city of Amsterdam which i love ( i have been there 2 times ) with the fans , cause idiots are everywhere , i really hope the police of Amsterdam will be careful . <img src='smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif' />

P.S i hope to make it and visit Amsterdam for 3rd time <img src='smilies/icon_wink.gif' />

This rule has been axed by the UEFA. If, for example, Suarez plays for Ajax in de the CL-playoffs and Ajax somehow manages to not qualify for the main tournament, Suarez is still eligible to play for another club in the main tournament.

Well i don't think that Suarez will stay at Ajax cause in playing career of a player there are not always this big opportunities , Suarez made an amazing performance at the world cup and he will chase a transfer now is his time , his rakes are high at the moment , also your club will get an huge amount of money.
I don't believe that your manager would leave if you would kept your players , AJAX looks like a club who everybody can come and choose a player to buy , you even lost Romendahl from the idiots of Piraeus ( Olympiakos)
In the bottom line Suarez knows that the contract he can get RIGHT NOW at a potential club , is difficult to get again in the future ...think about it , and why would JOL leave ? Maybe he did not like the whole "SELLING " strategy ....

Suarez was already hot before the WC and he can show those same qualities again if he plays CL with Ajax. He recently extended his contract because he was very happy at Ajax and wanted to play CL with us. But we'll see, I think he will play against PAOK.

The speculations around Martin Jol are (for the moment) purely coming from English media. Possible that the 'Jol-camp' is feeding this rumours to put pressure on the board for investments. Still waiting for confirmation.

Rommedahl: Ajax offered him a contract with a much lower salary than before, that should say enough about his importance. He was useful, but not in the first 11. Played one good match at the WC and Olympiakos offered him a shitload of money, talk about an impulsive policy. They'll soon see his qualities + his apparent shortcomings.

What bothers me more is that the relative calmness around Ajax is turning into pure madness now.

It has never been different. We can not fight transfers when large figures are offered. Martin Jol is aware of this, so it would be weak to leave for this reason.
About Rommedahl: he was out of contract, liked it at Ajax, but at his age he chose for another adventure.

Well then we just have to wait and see if he plays two weeks is not a long time :)

I also believe that the manager move could be rumors but "where a smoke is ,there is also a fire" ( Greek saying ).

Also thank you for the info about Rommedahl ... i did not knew all this

You have any supporters club named like super 3 that passes line ?
It's obvious that Ajax it is not an attractive club as use to be, Suarez have no reason to stay if the team sells all the important players and cant keep a great manager like martin jol. The last must close the door.

Yes you are correct . I think no team can fight large figures when it comes to transfers , except huge clubs of course . Martin Jol might have been aware of it but , what if the board desided to sell all his weapons ? Maybe he cannot offer his skills and thinks he cannot be competitive for the league anymore , who knows maybe its just rumors !

It's also a Dutch saying <img src='smilies/icon_wink.gif' />

Jol isn't exactly a loyal club man, he changes jobs frequently, so in that aspect it wouldn't surprise me. And yes, against the youth policy of Ajax (if a player goes, we preferably replace him with a youth player) he has a certain urge to buy, buy, buy.

I see .... then probably AJAX needs a Manager from his feeds , a strong personality who comes out of the Ajax team and history who would be willing to build a team with youth players cause its known that you have one of the best youth academies and that my friend is Gold ! Why invest on foreign players if you can invest on your youth and academies ? I also would like PAOK to use more youth players , we have the best youth team in Greece for years now , winning the championship so many times , winning even foreign well known youth teams from huge clubs having kids with huge potential but this obsession to buy unknown foreign players is something i will never understand !

Well, we've had Danny Blind (our current assistant) as manager in the past, but that wasn't a succes (not enough experience? not capable?). We've had Marco Van Basten, no succes. Next in line would probably be Frank de Boer (currently training our A1-youth and assistant (acting like a second manager) of Van Marwijk for our national team. He has made impressions all around, so he might be gold for us. Still, he is inexperienced.

Another option could be Morten Olsen, he has coached us before and stands for attacking football with no objection to youth.

In respect to our youth policy: times have changed and while we still pump out an adequate number of youth players they leave earlier and earlier. The big English teams are preying on our 15/16-year olds and Ajax has to offer these kids pretty large contracts just to stay.
