Hello I am not a PAOK but have been fascinated by this draw.
I watched the first leg and was interested by how everyone played.
What interests me most is the excuses AJAX and other big clubs make when their team plays poorly. When a Greek team usually beats a team like Benfica, Werder, Arsenal, Monaco, Real Madrid, AJAX, Barcelona, Lazio, Roma etc..- teams that have all been beaten by Greek sides in the last 10 years, we tend to hear a variety of excuses. However the AJAX excuses for last game are the most common.
'We were unlucky'
Now what is interesting is that if a player scores a goal to me, it is because he is good, if he misses it is because he has hit a poor shot. Luck does not come into it. Because AJAX shooting was shit in the first leg except for the brilliant Suarez, they drew, not because they were unlucy. How many shots did Ajax have? 16 total? 5-6 actually on target? 5-6 shots on target - at home, against a PAOK squad worth exactly half what the Ajax squad is worth? PAOK were controlling the game most of the second half!
Greek teams indeed pose a difficult dilemna. Years of underachievement due to the fact the country was in a mess, not because the football culture was poor. Even now in Greece there is an economic crisis, the Turks are attempting to take Aegean Islands by creating 'Grey Zones', FYROM is attempting to steal Greek histroy so they dont look Bulgarian and Greece itself is the same old disorganised country it has been for years. A team such as PAOK with its fanatical support should have always been a bigger European club than it was. Crippling debts due to UEFA bans due to their own hooliganism has damaged PAOK hugely. What I am trying to say is that Greece is an enigma and its football clubs, most playing in substandard stadiums follow suit. However one thing does not change, whenever Greek teams get good results off famous European clubs, it is never because the Greek team is good to the majority of foreign fans, it is usually because their own team is 'unlucky'. Of course when Greece wins Euro 2004, than the western media says 'Greece was lucky.!'
Indeed it is a strange world being Greek in Europe, one thing is for certain, as greece becomes a more stable nation the way Holland and England have been, so Greece's football clubs will continue to grow and teams like Ajax and the former European heavy weights will suffer. Turkey also is becoming a very strong footballing nation.
Back to the second leg. May the best team win, but more importantly lets hope for some good entertainment. I found the Ajax fans very sterile first leg, I think the few that travel to Salonika will have an education in football fanatisicm.

We know guys how good and professional you are, but we bet in the psychologial sector. Your players are young enough, they have no experience in hot atmospheres. Ajax is very tough team but not so good as in past times. And also your mundial players are quite tired from Africa games.
We have around 5 to 7 players who played on the World Cup, maybe even more.. sow if they don't have experience with atmospheres ??!!! The WC was even more than a little stadium in Thesaloniki!
You mean experience from vuvuzelas?
This has not been considered as an experience in hot atmosphere. This was a circus atmosphere. Anyway, Ajax has still the advantage against PAOK. But we are good warriors in the field as far as in the bleachers.

Hi again
The previous article from "faliro" is very good and serious. This is the picture that european citizens have about Greece.
Now for the History PAOK is located in Thessaloniki Macedonia North Greece. Macedonia is a Region in Greece like Bavaria or Hessen in Germany ( I dont know about Holland). The old Macedonia was a Greek state and it was glorious in all the world because of Alexander the Great who conguered all the known world in his days.
This state in old times had pieces of land that now are Bulgarian and FYROM territory. So FYROM want to call their land Macedonia. The error on this is that the fyrom people are Slavs that came in this territory on 6th century A.D . So its wrong to use the name Macedonia which existed before they came. Thats why we Greeks dont want to call them macedonians because Macedonia is a part of Greece.
Now for the game. This game means very much for both teams. So I expect a real fight in the field and a real thriller. In the end the strongest team will win and my guess is that it will be PAOK. Score 1-0

Well AJAX Fans have bought 87 TICKETS TILL NOW !!! wow !! that is something i did NOT expect ....tell me my dear dutch friends ...what should the squad think when their supporters are not BEHIND them in such a difficult match ... Not having fans in such a stadium and atmosphere means Psychology = 0 ....
You see thats the difference some people in here try to explain to you ....WE WANT THIS MORE THAN YOU !!! The people around a team forges the mentality ..the passion ...Your FANS dont believe in this ...how should the players believe they could ESCAPE from there with something positive ?
think about it ... we came 4000 in there with another 1000 not finding a ticket ... Ajax fans with 4 Ch.L titles cannot gather 100 people ... imagine that !

The sad thing is that for 100 people , PAOK has to make security zones in the stadium ....that means that we will have LESS tickets available .....and we have already a SOLD OUT from the day after the first match .... too bad ...for 100 people we could give this whole ZONE to our fans who desire to see the match !!!

Hello guys, nice to see you around. Iam one more fan of PAOK but since my job have really big relation with dutch soccer, I follow also Ajax really closely.
First of all, Iam not fully surprised from the first leg's result but Iam more than surprised from the first half's way of game. Ajax had really busy opponent box and taking advantage from PAOK's stress from the importance of match, managed to create many chances and most of them been clear ones. PAOK was better in 2nd half but it was nothing that leave me mega happy as I think the result been after really big luck.
Even this, PAOK now having really big chance to qualify against Ajax after playing for scoreless also. Result that I hardly see in this match but after all, PAOK is happy at home with 0-0, the clean sheet that loved to keep last season. Not much sense to make tallks between Santos' team and Dermitzakis (?) one but after all PAOK having hot crowd can make it.
The problem is how PAOK can act in defence and how PAOK gonna play in this game. IF you gonna defend the 0-0 I dont see that you have really big chance to keep it till end. Might end 1-0 with set kick or even counter but its a style that its better for our team to avoid. Iam afraid that Ajax will score at least once and if they do first in the game, they will move the stress on locals who might recieve small whistles if nothing going good.
However I watching and I gonna do till end, the Super Cup of Ajax between Twente and I can call again that Ajax defence is like swiss cheese. Twente having big visits on Ajax's box an would score a second goal even till end of first half. Stekeleburg made amazing mistake at the goal of Twene and he showed us that nor him or Chalkias or anyone have clear night always.
Ajax seems out of organisation at his game and I tell it because they face a really balanced side as Twent still. Ruiz and all crosses having made big problem to Ajax's defence. You really guys think that only defence can make you winning the trophies? And last note, why da fak this Suarez has always something to tell to referee and he is big dissapointed to any whistle against him? Been offside 1metre, kicking the ball to fans and he still be un happy with referee and the yellow card? Red card for him for mad kicking with two legs on opponent midfielder.
1ST HALF have ended with Twente up front 1-0 and with Ajax having no attacking style to break them with tactic. Its like Suarez taking ball and running from one corner to other like its PRO evolution. He doing shot or breaking at box to find easy kicker from middle area. What a nice...

Match ended.
Twente won 1-0 in Amsterdam Arena quite deserved. Ajax been better in 2nd half, at least Twente tried only counter attacks. Ajax had ball domination, with Sulejmani and Emanuelsson been more attacking minded but were unable to break Twente's wall in defence.
Note, that PAOK should try to play with Muslimovic who gonna press opponent central defenders, even if he is unstable on his games, he is guy for such games. He will run from one player to other, will shout, will give everything to this game and he is the right person to be one with fans psychology. I prefer to see him in first eleven and to mix a bit the system having Sorlen on bench. I dont see any chance that Vitolo, Garcia, Ivic, Salpi and Veirinha to miss their place, so if Musli make it to first eleven, Sorlen will miss their position I guess. A bit attacking minded team but what to do? I dont see it other way...

Hi from Greece guys!!
Be informed that you are playing against Paok that is the team with the largest number of debts in Greece!!!!
Every year the greek goverment let them play in Superleague despite of the 60 million euros of debt!!!
The two recent titles was given to them by the greek goverment (the two cups) with scandalous ways!!!!
They did nothing in Europe even though they play every year because of the referees!!!
Once they put away Arsenal and they bust our balls since then!!!

Good news tha Enoh is injured makes things easier in the middlefield (ofcourse i wish him to be healthy in the other games!). About Muslimovits there is a diskussion for a while between PAOK fans whether he is good or not. I dont know how this diskussion has started but Muslimovits is a very good player by my opinion. He is Bosnia-Herzegovina national player has technique and is strong and good in the air. We need player like him to crash massive defence. Compare him with Torqulele is not right. The only negative about him is that he suffered many injuries. For the Ajax game if we play the 4-2-3-1 system to hold the zero behind is better though to use Salpigidis for fast counter attack. But if Ajax scores then is better to play with 4-4-2 system with Musli and Salpigidis in front

It's not about the stadium's capacity. The secondary factor is how good a stadium transits the fans' voices to the field (it's about the way it've been built),and the primary factor is,obviously, the fans.
South African, Dutch, and National Team fans generally, have nothing in comparison to Greek fans.
Now,PAOK fans? Are way better than any Greek team fans,so you can expect an overwhelming 150-minute-long experience (our atmosphere is great before the game starts) .
Probably Ajax players should bring their cameras in the stadium. They are gonna need them.
And the 'several' Ajax fans, too

There is also the football field itself that plays a role ... The Toumba field is a rough and hard field with lots of wholes and the Ajax players will soon realize that its not as an "carpet" like in Amsterdam arena . The size is also different , its much more narrow field , all this together with the temperature of 35o degrees and the Hot atmosphere could disorient the Ajax players . This is my opinion cause football is not always played with talents and skills , there is Psychology also and passion and of course there are details like the football field itself which WE fans do not see ...

A lot of PAOK fans said that we Ajax Fans search for excuses for the diappointing result in the Arena. We're not searching for excuses but we are looking at the facts.
It seems that all the PAOK fans forget the ball against the hand of one of your players in the 16 meter. We had to get a penalty kick, but it seems that al PAOK fans forget that. And than they wants to claim that we are mad when we say that they were lucky? My god then they have watch the game through PAOK glasses.

According to the football laws it was not a penalty. Our player did not make himself "long" as you say in Dutch, he had no advantage, the ball would hit his face otherwise. He did not use his hands to stop the ball in purpose.

He made himself long for sure! If you know the rules then you do know that when a player makes himself long or his are is stretched and the ball touch the arm or the hand than it's a penalty kick. The ball touched his hand, otherwise Suarez get the ball ahead the goal and someone could score. It was a penalty kick.
No it was not dear! Nobody mentioned that penalty (?) and I am surprised you raise it now. After all, it seems ridiculous for me that Ajax needs a penalty in 89 min in order to win a game (which they actually did not deserve to win)! Finally we all have to respect the referees. They usually know better. One day left fellows. We all hope that the better team will win. I pray God PAOK to qualify to the next round!
